Costa Rica
With little chance of rain and high chance of sunshine in the first month of the year, you’re going to want to make your way to Costa Rica. You also won’t want to miss out on the most eventful times, when fiestas with fireworks, dancing, and parades take place.
Tasmania, Australia
Like Costa Rica, there is hardly any rain in Tasmania in January, and the average daily temperature is 77 degrees. Not only are there festivals going on then, such as The Taste of Tasmania, but it is a great time for water sports including white water rafting!
Tulum, Mexico
Welcome to Tulum, where there’s warm water beaches and clear skies in the middle of winter. Let’s not forget about the iconic techno/house music festivals, Day Zero and Zamna!
Barbados
Avoiding peak season but still having amazing weather is definitely ideal. Therefore, Barbados is the way to go during the winter season. They even have their “sailing week” which takes occurs in the middle of the month or the annual Flower and Garden Show, which takes place near the end.
Bangkok, Thailand

Due to low humidity, heat, and rainfall, January would be one of the best months to visit Bangkok. Because of that, it makes for the best time to walk around and see attractions such as the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market or Safari World.
