Let’s take a look at my top 5 suggestions for destinations around the world to visit in November.

Maldives

November has excellent conditions for diving with manta rays and whale sharks, less rain, and stunning sunsets, minus the peak crowds and high prices. The Maldives looks like an absolutely beautiful destination. with snorkeling, scuba diving, sunset cruises, paddleboarding, and parasailing. Plus, the spa treatments and staying in an overwater bungalow will have you feeling relaxed and luxurious. While Hulhumale Beach is known for its white sand and shallow, clear water, Vaadhoo Beach is famous for the “Sea of Stars” bioluminescence occurrence where the phytoplankton glow an electric blue at nighttime.

Dubai

This city in November has nice, cooler weather, avoiding the summer heat. It is still magnificent for swimming at JBR Beach or going on desert safaris. It marks the beginning of peak tourist season with Dubai Design Week, Dubai International Film Festival, and the Dubai Shopping Festival kicking off. While there, Ferrari World, Burj Khalifi, the world’s largest building with an observation deck, or the Dubai Autodrome, with the opportunity to drive an F1 race car. The Dubai Miracle Garden, the largest natural flower garden in the world, reopens this month. It is the home of over 150 million flowers forming castles and a life-size Emirates A380 replica!

Malta

Going to Malta at this time of the year is perfect for visiting historical sites such as Valletta or the Tarxien Temples without the crowds. The temperatures in the ocean are also still swimmable, though there may be occasional showers and cooler nights. More notable scenic spot are Dingli Cliffs and Blue Grotto, a sea cave known for its vibrant blue waters. In this country, you can also find the Popeye Village, an eccentric venue and open-air museum. It was created as the original film set for the live-action Popeye movie in 1980, providing characters, mini golf, boat rides, and a swimming area.

St. Lucia

Why go to St. Lucia in November? For the lush scenery, lower prices, and fewer crowds, of course. Besides relaxing in your private villa, the Gros Piton is a 5 hour hike or Descartiers Rainforest are moderate trails. Other attractions consist of the mud baths at Sulphur Springs, swimming under the Toraille Waterfall, kayaking Pigeon Island, or catamaran cruises. If you want to enjoy a gorgeous beach, try Anse Mamin or Reduit for water sports such as water skiing and windsurfing.

Taiwan

The country of Taiwan will be ideal for exploring autumn scenery at Qianshan Park while experiencing less crowds in the middle of fall. It starts off hot spring season for relaxing dips at Beitou or Wulai. Starting in the middle of the month, you can catch the huge annual festival of Christmasland with trees, light displays, music, and installations. Another event is Nuit Blanche, a contemporary arts festival featuring interactive projections. Taipei 101 (pictured above), was one of the tallest buildings in the world, still holding luxury shops and observation decks.

All Around the World in October

Bora Bora

This island offers excellent weather with little rain and warm temperatures in the mid-80s while peak season is slowing down. The seas are calmer then and there is abundant sunshine! It is perfect for diving, snorkeling, jet skiing, ATV tours, exploring villages, and whale watching. If I were to go, I would likely choose to swim in the clear water around my bungalow most of the time.

Morocco

By visiting Morocco in October, you will be able to avoid the heat, making it ideal for exploring cities such as Marrakech and Fes, hiking through the Atlas Mountains, and surfing along the coast of Essaouira. In the Sahara Desert, you will even be able to ride camels or rejuvenate in a traditional Moroccan Hammam bath! Other unique activities include pottery workshops or the Arabian Nights dinner experience in the dunes of the Moroccan Desert.

Iceland

Iceland in October provides visitors with lower prices and stunning autumn colors. Not to mention the prime opportunity for viewing the Northern Lights or ice caving at Crystal Cave. Glacier hiking at Solheimajokull Glacier, boat tours at glacier lagoons, and snowmobiling are fun winter activities to participate in too. Gullfoss Waterfall is one of the most famous waterfalls in Iceland with the Blue Lagoon being an incredible geothermal area with a swim-up bar.

Switzerland

A beautiful Swiss cities to visit in October is Zurich, for viewing fall foliage, soaking in the thermal baths, stopping at the Lindt Home of Chocolate, and hiking Ebenalp Seealpsee. The Engadine Valley is worth visiting, along with Lago di Saoseo, despite it being a two-hour hike. Or if you would like to experience a train ride, Glacier Express or Bernina Express, strolling along Lake Lucerne, and wine harvest celebrations are are unforgettable options as well.

Tuscany, Italy

Another place for fall foliage and wine harvests is Tuscany. The Boccaccesca Food & Wine Festival in Certaldo hosts cooking shows, tasting experiences, and live music. You can trek in the Casentino Forests National Park or along the coast at Maremma Park for autumn colors. The Arezzo Antiques Fair is Italy’s oldest and largest antique market that occurs the first Sunday of every month. Wine lovers may prefer to go to Montepulciano, the location of underground wine cellars. Explorers might want to climb the Towers in San Gimignano, before shopping and dining in the town.

Around the Globe in August – My Top 5 Picks

Niagara Falls, Canada

Having visited Niagara Falls, Canada in August, I can say it is a nice time to visit. Though it was somewhat crowded, the weather was great. There is a gift shop, restaurants with views of the falls while you dine, and boat rides available to get an up-close experience. The Niagara SkyWheel and Skylon Tower offer pretty overlooks as well. Besides just that, this city offers a Butterfly Conservatory, Seneca Niagara Resort and Casino, Niagara Wine Trail, Clinton Hill, hot air balloon rides, ziplining, shopping, and so much more!

Croatia

With how beautiful Croatia is, it’s hard to narrow it down to just one spot! On the top of my bucket list there is Plitvice Lakes, consisting of 16 lakes that are connected by waterfalls and streams. Dubrovnik is a city on the sea that is plentiful in the culture, history, and shopping. Golden Horn Beach, Krka National Park, Velebit Mountains, and Cres Island are all lovely at this time of year as well.

Stockholm, Sweden

The weather in Stockholm, Sweden is pleasant in August, with lower chances of rainfall. Taking a ferry ride of the archipelago to Fjäderholmarna will present you with cute cafes and shops. If you ride to Grinda, you can play volleyball, on the clear-water beach, kayak, or take a hike. Cycling around Stockholm is an ideal way to explore the city waterfront and historical landmarks. The Stockholm Culture Festival takes place in August too, with music and craft workshops.

Banff National Park, Canada

Besides some crowds, August is the best month of the year to visit Banff, Canada due to the weather. It is absolutely gorgeous, including Cascade Gardens, Glacier Fed Lake, Cascade Mountains, Peyto Lake, and Lake Louise Summer Gondola to easily access these majestic mountains. Biking, canoeing, rock climbing, and white water rafting are amongst some other activities that visitors enjoy.

Berlin, Germany

August 12th-13th, 2024 is the proclaimed the Night of Shooting Stars, where up to 100 shooting stars are visible in the sky between 2am-4am. August 26th to 27th is when Long Night at the Museums take place, with 75 museums around the city staying open until 2am, with only one ticket and shuttles for transport. The city has theatrical performances, sporting events, food tours, street art, and observation decks. And you can’t forget to see the Berlin Wall Memorial!

Short Trips in the U.S. for August

Adirondacks, New York

A summer in the Adirondacks is bound to be a good one, whether it be spent boating, hiking, camping, swimming, at the beach, or at a distillery. It is suitable for either families or friends, offering a drive-in movie theater, museums, ziplining, fishing and more!

Delaware Beaches/Ocean City, Maryland

Along east coast, you will find multiple beaches starting at Rehoboth Beach in Delaware, connecting all the way down to Ocean City in Maryland. There are three different boardwalks in that area filled with rides, games, shops, dining, and activities such as mini golf and Ripley’s Believe it or Not! At night, you can walk over to Seacrets for dancing or head to Dewey Beach for bar hopping. I also recommend Fish Tales for good drinks and dining on the bayside!

Minneapolis, Minnesota

Since Minnesota is usually frigid in the winter, I would say that August would be a good time to take a mini vacation there. Of course, the Mall of America is a must-visit. Minnehaha Falls, Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, and Chain of Lakes are great outdoor options as well.

Virginia Beach, Virginia

Having visited Virginia Beach in August before, I would go during that month again. I went solely for the Luke Bryan concert at Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater. However, I made the most of the trip by laying out on the beach, exploring First Landing State Park, spending the day at Ocean Breeze water park, and watching the fireworks over the ocean.

Jersey Shore

I’ve been to the Jersey Shore many times. I can say that Wildwood has a nice boardwalk and Seaside Heights is cool if you watched the Jersey Shore reality show. If you visit the Shore Store, you might see Danny, who will give you a tour of their house from the show for $10, if there are no guests staying at that time. Atlantic City would be the best for casinos such as Bally’s or concerts. Last August, I attended Tidalwave Music Festival, staying at the Tropicana (pictured above), and this year will be seeing Illenium at Harrah’s!

The Most Beautiful Place Sophia Bush Has Ever Been

In a recent Instagram post, the lovely actress who plays Brooke Davis in the iconic tv show, One Tree Hill, shares the “most beautiful place” that she’s ever been. Sophia Bush posted pictures of herself looking stunning in St. Lucia, along with the Jade Mountain Resort in St. Lucia.

This resort is perfect for your honeymoon or a romantic getaway. Guests can partake in tasting and making their own chocolate in the Chocolate Laboratory located on site. They can also participate in a truffle-making class or an hour-long, chocolate-infused spa treatment. Complimentary yoga is also offered, along with jungle biking, kayaking, private charters, and a waterfall walk to Piton Warm Waterfall, where you can take a swim. The pristine beaches are a pivotal reason why visitors come to the island too.
